A few weeks after the board meeting, the protesters won when the board agreed to follow Moore’s rules for choosing future textbooks. These rules banned books that looked too much into family life, taught racial hatred, attacked religious or ethnic groups, encouraged rebellion, insulted patriotism, supported foreign governments, used God’s name in a bad way, or had bad language. Because of her work, Moore became a famous leader for the Religious Right.
