Molten glass is poured into a set of rollers to press the art glass into sheets. Wissmach Glass has several types of rollers that are used to create sheets of glass with different surface textures (0:10).
After the rollers press the glass, a worker at the factory moves the glass to a special kiln, called a lehr, that slowly cools the glass to give it tensile strength and to prevent heat-related breakage. When the sheets of glass exit the lehr, workers cut the glass to size.
