Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College, known as Eastern, was founded in 1999 and is one of the youngest public colleges in the state. Located in Moorefield, it serves six counties in the Potomac Highlands and Eastern Panhandle.

Eastern offers two-year degrees, career training, certificates, and continuing education. It provides both in-person and online classes, using high schools and other locations to help students access learning.

Most of its students are adults studying part-time. Eastern grew quickly in the early 2000s and became fully accredited in 2008. Its motto is "Education That Works."
