This Cedar Grove (Kanawha County) native Cedar Grove is known for colorful, textured paintings that blend mountain landscapes with mystical symbols. She studied at West Virginia University and developed her unique style using oil sticks on paper. Her work has been shown across the country and is in collections of the Library of Congress. Clendenin has won many awards, including three Governor’s Awards at the West Virginia Juried Exhibition.
